Passengers in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, will need to use replacement buses for late-night and early-morning journeys on 7 March and 8 March 2026. The change comes as Chiltern Railways shuts the line between Oxford Parkway and Oxford to allow for overnight engineering works.

The railway will be closed from 22:55 on Saturday, 7 March, until 08:35 on Sunday, 8 March. During this window, buses will run between Oxford Parkway, Oxford, and Bicester North to keep people moving while the tracks are out of use.

For those starting their journey at the local station, the replacement buses will pick up and drop off at the bus stop on Old Warwick Road, located directly outside the main entrance. People travelling toward the South Coast or London should plan for their trips to take much longer than a standard train ride.

This temporary closure is part of a larger project by Network Rail to improve the station and rail equipment in the Oxford area. The work is designed to help the station handle more trains and provide better services in the future.

CrossCountry Trains services that usually pass through this area will also be affected by the work. Rail staff are encouraging everyone to check their specific travel times and any changes to their connections before they leave home.
