The search for answers over the death of Adam Lucas has led Warwickshire Police to issue a renewed call for information, more than three months after his body was found in a Leamington Spa park. The 51-year-old was pulled from the River Leam in Victoria Park at about 7.45am on Wednesday 15 April 2026 after a member of the public raised the alarm. A post-mortem examination concluded he died from injuries consistent with an assault, and detectives have since arrested a 27-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman from Birmingham, together with a 44-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man from Leamington, all on suspicion of murder. The Birmingham woman was additionally held on suspicion of assisting an offender. A 53-year-old Leamington man arrested on suspicion of murder has since been released with no further action. The other four suspects remain on bail while enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Gareth Unett, who is leading the investigation, said officers are focusing heavily on an eight-hour gap in Adam’s last known movements, between 11pm on Tuesday 14 April and the discovery of his body the following morning. The police’s underwater search unit spent a day combing the river shortly after the find, and cordons were placed around Victoria Park as the initial scene was examined. Adam’s family described themselves as shocked and heartbroken and paid tribute to him as an amazing and loved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin.
