St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, has announced that children must be dropped off and collected by someone aged 16 or over starting after the Easter holidays. The school shared the update on 21 March 2026, stating that the new rules are part of its commitment to keeping pupils safe during the transition between home and school.

The policy officially begins on 13 April 2026, which is when pupils return to school following the break. Children in Year 6 who already have written permission from their parents to walk home by themselves will not be affected by the changes. Families who may find it difficult to arrange for an adult or older teenager to meet their children are encouraged to speak with staff in the school office to discuss their situation.

The school, which joined the Our Lady of the Magnificat Multi-Academy Company in February 2025, was rated Good in all areas during its most recent Ofsted inspection in April 2023. At that time, inspectors noted the school provides a positive environment for its approximately 204 students.

Nearby on Baker Avenue, Kingsway Community Primary School has also been updating its families through the latest edition of its school newsletter, Issue 14. Kingsway, which is overseen by the Community Academies Trust, reached a Good Ofsted rating for the first time in its history in September 2023, with staff being praised for knowing how to keep children safe.
