Residents in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, are facing wind gusts of up to 45mph and a sharp drop in temperature on Wednesday 25 March 2026. This sudden change follows a brief period of spring warmth, with conditions now feeling much colder than the actual 6C recorded this morning.

According to the Met Office, the wind chill effect means it feels like just 2C for people heading outdoors. These blustery conditions follow even stronger winds on Tuesday evening, when the town saw gusts reach 47mph.

The turn in weather is a major shift from last week, when the UK reached 20.9C on 18 March 2026. Experts at the Met Office say the town will now see heavy showers and a mix of rain and hail throughout the day.

Forecasters from the Met Office expect widespread frost to develop overnight as the cold snap continues. While Thursday may bring some sunny intervals, more rain is expected to move into the region on Friday.
