Warwick District Council launched a new parking payment system on 11 May 2026, allowing drivers to use a wider range of mobile apps at council-run car parks across Leamington Spa, Warwick, and Kenilworth.
Previously, residents and visitors were restricted to using only the RingGo app for digital parking payments. Under the new National Parking Platform, motorists can now choose from several approved providers, including APCOA, Caura, JustPark, and PayByPhone. For those who prefer traditional methods, on-site payment machines remain available for card transactions.
The National Parking Platform is a not-for-profit digital service that connects different parking apps to council car parks. By moving to this system, the council aims to make the payment process more flexible and consistent for drivers. The platform is managed by the British Parking Association, which took over the project from the Department for Transport in May 2025.
Councillor Will Roberts, the council’s portfolio holder for neighbourhood, stated that joining the platform allows the local authority to improve parking services while focusing on customer needs. The National Parking Platform has already processed more than 10 million transactions across the country, and the government is currently encouraging all councils in England to adopt the technology.
Warwick District Council operates approximately 10 car parks in Royal Leamington Spa, along with further facilities in Warwick and Kenilworth.
