Assembly Hall Theatre is bringing a prehistoric dose of potty humour to Royal Tunbridge Wells when ‘The Dinosaur That Pooped A Rock Show’ lands on Saturday 5 September 2026. Adapted from the bestselling picture book series by McFly’s Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter, the Assembly Hall Theatre production tells a brand new story where Danny and his voracious dinosaur Dino must save the day when tickets to their favourite band’s last ever concert vanish.
The 60-minute show, produced by Mark Thompson Productions Limited and directed by Miranda Larson, plays twice that day at 12:30pm and 3:30pm with no interval. Tickets cost £20.75 for adults, £19.75 for children under 16 and £64.26 for a family of four, while members of the theatre’s scheme knock 10% off those prices. Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter have written new songs for the stage, and the theatre promises “a lot of laughs and a whole lot of poo” as a devious band manager throws obstacles in the heroes’ path.
The original book series has sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide across 16 titles covering space, history, fairy tales, pirates, superheroes and holidays. The stage version launched as a UK tour in 2025, giving families a chance to see the messy adventures in real life rather than on the page. The Assembly Hall Theatre sits on Crescent Road and has already filled September 2026 with family shows, hosting ‘In the Night Garden Live’ and the Natural History Museum’s ‘Dinosaurs Live!’ earlier in the month.
