Two children are being treated in hospital for serious injuries after a car they were in crashed into a tree in Sittingbourne, Kent, on February 12, 2026. The crash happened at approximately 4:05 PM on Homewood Avenue after the driver reportedly ignored a request from a police patrol to pull over.

According to Kent Police, officers first signalled for the grey Vauxhall Zafira to stop on Chestnut Street. The vehicle then travelled through the village of Borden before the driver lost control and hit a tree on a residential street.

A 29-year-old man was arrested at the crash site on suspicion of driving crimes and drug possession. Both children who were passengers in the car were taken to the hospital with serious injuries following the collision.

Investigators from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now asking for help from anyone who saw the car or has dashcam footage. They are specifically interested in recordings from Chestnut Street, Borden, and Homewood Avenue taken between 3:55 PM and 4:10 PM on the day of the incident.
