Residents in Slough, Berkshire, are being told to prepare for a sudden drop in temperature and strong winds starting on Wednesday, 25 March 2026. The Met Office predicts that daytime highs will fall to 9°C, which is a 7-degree decrease from the 16°C reached today.

Heavy rain is expected to move into the area on Tuesday night, with a 90 per cent chance of heavy rain by 10pm. On Wednesday, the town will face wind gusts of up to 39mph, making the outdoor air feel as cold as 4°C during the day.

According to the Met Office, the regional weather for London and South East England will be windy with sunshine and scattered heavy showers. Meteorologist Alex Deakin described the change as a cold plunge that will be a shock to the system after the recent warm weather.

Thursday, 26 March 2026, will be the coldest day of the week, with minimum temperatures dropping to 1°C. Overnight, the wind will make it feel as cold as -3°C before conditions begin to get milder heading into the weekend.
