Slough Borough Council launched a new survey on 17 March 2026 to find out how local neighbourhoods in Slough, Berkshire, affect the health of people living there. This study asks residents for their views on how easy it is to access doctors, parks, and safe places to walk or cycle.

The survey specifically looks at how local facilities like libraries and leisure centres impact daily life. Council leaders want to know if residents feel safe in their streets and if there are enough routes for exercise nearby to help inform future building projects.

According to the council, Slough has the highest rate of childhood obesity in Southeast England. The feedback gathered from this survey will be used to help decide where new homes and services should be placed to encourage healthier lifestyles for children and families.

Councillor Ishrat Shah, Lead Member for Public Health, Wellbeing and Equalities, said that “the evidence is being gathered for the public health team to support work with the planning department on decisions about new developments over the coming years”. Residents have until 13 April 2026 to complete the survey and share their thoughts on their local area.
