Slough Borough Council is holding monthly drop-in neighbourhood housing surgeries this week in Slough, Berkshire, to help residents with home repairs and tenancy questions. These sessions allow council tenants and leaseholders to speak directly with Senior Neighbourhood Officers without needing to book an appointment beforehand.
The first session will take place at Langley Library on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. On Thursday, February 26, 2026, officers will be available at The Britwell Centre and the Chalvey Community Hub. All sessions will run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
At these meetings, residents can get advice on housing applications, discuss maintenance issues, or raise concerns about their tenancy agreements. Officers will also be on hand to explain how the national Renters’ Rights Act will affect local people when it comes into force in May 2026, including new standards for property conditions and tenant protections.
The sessions are being held as the council prepares to meet on Thursday, February 26, 2026, to approve its new budget for the 2026-27 year. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to improve community engagement after the local authority was previously cited for service failings by the Regulator of Social Housing.
