The Met Office has forecast a period of unsettled weather for Slough, Berkshire, between 18 March and 1 April 2026. This long-range outlook suggests that residents should prepare for heavy rain, strong winds, and an increased risk of wintry hazards like snow or ice as the month comes to a close.

The predicted change follows a mild start to the month where temperatures in the town are forecast to reach as high as 17°C on 5 March 2026. Forecasters say that weather patterns may become slower-moving during late March, which could keep unsettled conditions focused on southern parts of the UK.

Slough Borough Council typically sends out gritters to salt primary and secondary roads when road surface temperatures are expected to fall to near freezing. Major transport links such as the M4 motorway and the Elizabeth Line are often vulnerable to disruption or delays during periods of heavy rain and high winds.

People living in the area are advised to secure any loose items in their gardens and to check the latest forecasts before planning any journeys. These precautions come as the risk of frost and ice is expected to be higher at the end of the month than it was during the start of March.
