Slough Town Football Club in Slough, Berkshire, has signed goalkeeper Alfie Marriott on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 season. The club announced the deal on 4 March 2026 to ensure the team has enough players in the position for its upcoming matches.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper joins the team from the Watford under-21 squad. Marriott is expected to go straight into the squad to provide cover and competition for the starting spot during the final part of the league season.

This signing follows the sudden departure of the club’s regular first-choice goalkeeper, Adam Desbois, who left only one day earlier. Desbois had played 42 matches this season and kept 13 clean sheets before being signed by a club in the National League Premier.

Desbois was a non-contract player, which meant Slough Town could not block the move once a higher-level club made an official request for him. This type of request, known as a seven-day approach, gives a player the right to talk to other clubs and move on short notice.

Manager Scott Davies said he was disappointed to lose his main goalkeeper at such an important time of the year. However, he acknowledged that the chance for a player to move up to a higher league was a big opportunity that was difficult to turn down.
