Residents in Hampshire should prepare for upcoming disruptions to council services, as Hampshire County Council has announced that its website and telephone lines will be unavailable for essential maintenance. The service interruption is set to begin at 5pm on Friday 22 May and will continue until 11pm on Monday 25 May 2026.

The council is advising anyone with urgent tasks to complete them before the maintenance work starts. Because the downtime coincides with the late May bank holiday weekend, the authority is keen to ensure residents are aware of the limited access to digital and phone-based support during this period.

While the main website and telephone services will be offline, some specific functions will remain available. Residents can still use the automated invoice payment line by calling 0333 555 2221. Additionally, library members can continue to access services through the Spydus library app.

The council has also stressed that help remains available for those facing emergencies. Anyone with urgent safeguarding concerns should call 0300 555 1373, though the council has clarified that this emergency number cannot be used for any other non-urgent enquiries during the maintenance window.

Officials have also issued a warning for residents to be vigilant regarding potential scams while the website is down. The council stated that it will not contact individuals to request sensitive data during this time and urged the public to be alert to any suspicious activity.
