Police officers are holding a public meeting in Swaythling, Hampshire, on 5 March 2026 to let residents share their concerns about local crime and safety issues. The session, known as a Police and Communities Together meeting, covers both the Swaythling and Mansbridge areas and will run from 18:30 to 20:00.

The event will be led by PC Adam O’Neill from the Portswood Neighbourhood Policing Team at the Round About Cafe on Westfield Corner. These quarterly meetings are designed to give neighbours a chance to speak directly with officers about street-level problems and help decide which issues police should prioritise in the local area.

According to Hampshire Constabulary, the meeting follows specific local alerts regarding speeding and theft from vehicles that were issued earlier this month. The police will use the forum to discuss progress on previous community concerns and address ongoing antisocial behaviour.

Recent data from CrimeRate shows that the crime rate in Southampton is currently 76 per cent higher than the average for the South East. This follows a report from the Southampton Data Observatory that 38 per cent of residents in the city were victims of crime or antisocial behaviour during 2025.
