On 18 March 2026, GO! Southampton announced it has successfully renewed its national accreditation for reducing crime in the city centre in Southampton, Hampshire. This recognition from the National Association of Business Crime Partnerships validates the city’s safety efforts and will last for the next three years, until 2029.
The Southampton Business Crime Partnership (SBCP) works with local shops and the police to manage shoplifting and anti-social behaviour. To do this, the group uses a security radio network and an online system called DISC to share information and alerts about local crime with businesses.
Over the past year, the partnership helped recover almost £60,000 worth of stolen items for local businesses and processed over 1,640 incidents through its digital platform. This work involves close collaboration between a dedicated security team, Southampton City Council, and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.
The news comes during the second annual national Business Crime Reduction Partnership Awareness Week, which began on 16 March 2026. This renewal ensures that businesses in the city centre continue to have access to coordinated support and a shared security network to help keep the area safe for visitors and shoppers.
