Residents in Southend-on-Sea can enjoy a new family event this month as Age Concern Southend hosts a Spring Fayre at The Haven Community Hub on 24 May 2026. Taking place from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, the free event serves as a community-focused celebration just one day before the Spring Bank Holiday.
The fayre will be held at the hub’s location on 138-140 Hamlet Court Road in Westcliff-on-Sea, a Grade II listed building formerly known as the Havens Department store. Hamlet Court Road previously hosted the annual In Harmony Festival, which drew more than 3,000 visitors in 2025. The new Spring Fayre replaces this previous festival on the local events calendar.
Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities, including stalls, games, taster sessions, a tombola, face painting, and a treasure hunt. Children will have the chance to meet local mascot Sammy the Shrimp, who is making a special appearance between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm. Refreshments for the day will be provided by KB’s Café.
The event is proudly supported by Aquabridge Law, a firm with offices in Chelmsford, Colchester, and Felixstowe. This gathering highlights the ongoing activity at the hub, which is managed by Age Concern Southend. The charity, which provides support and services to older people across the area, secured full ownership of the building in July 2025 following a successful fundraising effort that ended years of leasing the site.
