In March 2026, the Mid and South Essex NHS is providing digital training sessions at Hadleigh Library in Essex to help residents gain the skills needed to use online health tools. The initiative helps locals feel more confident managing their personal health from home, which reduces the need to visit a doctor in person.
The project offers one-to-one support to help people learn how to use the NHS App for everyday tasks like ordering repeat prescriptions. Residents can also learn how to view their medical records online, making it easier to stay on top of their healthcare without leaving the house.
These sessions are a joint effort between the local health service, Essex County Council, and the Saffron Building Society. By working together, these organisations aim to remove the barriers that often stop people from using digital services for their medical needs.
Rebecca Harris, the MP for Castle Point, said that it was great to see local groups working together to provide practical support for residents. She noted that improving digital confidence helps people access the services they need more easily.
The training sessions take place on the last Tuesday of every month from 10am until 2pm at the library. The programme began in January 2026 and has already received positive feedback from residents who have attended.
