Southend-on-Sea’s first dedicated business showcase will take place on 17 September 2026 at the Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre in Eastern Avenue. The free event runs from 9.30am until 3pm and aims to drive local economic growth by connecting businesses, residents and partners for networking, workshops and exhibitions.

Organised by Southend-on-Sea City Council, the Business Show 2026 is designed to reflect the breadth of the city’s commercial life, from micro-enterprises to major employers. Councillor Matt Dent, cabinet member for business, culture, music and tourism, described it as a celebration of the city’s economic vibrancy and ambition. He said the event would create real opportunities for collaboration, innovation and growth, and underlined the council’s commitment to supporting local enterprise and strengthening skills.

The programme includes a workshop led by Lisa Ansell of Sales Geek on standing out in competitive markets, alongside facilitated networking hosted by Networking Essex. Six local firms are sponsoring the event: Muddy Wood Projects Ltd, Surgical Holdings, BTMK, Formara Print and Marketing, Dedman Gray and Azets. Further backing has come from the venue itself, operated by Freedom Leisure Centre. Full details are on the council’s website.
