Families in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, have more activities to choose from this month as local venues launch new shows for the February school break and a major climbing event in March. The updated list of activities includes magic shows, animal encounters, and food events to help people plan their trips to the seafront and local shops.
Scott’s of Southend garden centre is hosting magic shows with Skittleman on February 17 and February 18, 2026, for £6 per person. Between February 16 and February 20, 2026, children can also visit Grumpy’s Diner to take part in pancake making activities.
The garden centre is also holding a farm animal event from February 19 to February 21, 2026. According to the Southend-on-Sea City Council, these local activities take place while schools are closed for the February half-term break.
Looking further ahead, the IndiBlock Stars Climbing Festival takes place on March 7, 2026, at the Indirock indoor climbing wall inside The Victoria Centre. This event happens on the same day as Southend City Day, which is a community celebration held across the area.
These updates from Visit Southend aim to provide residents and visitors with more things to do indoors during the colder months. By offering booked activities like climbing competitions and workshops, the city hopes to keep local businesses busy outside of the summer season.
