The award-winning Foodie Friday event will return to Stockport Market Place in Greater Manchester on February 27, 2026, to bring local food and live music to the town centre. According to Stockport Council, the evening market will also be held on March 27 and April 24, providing residents with a place to eat and socialise at the end of the month.
The market runs from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and features a mix of local street food, craft ales, and musical performances. As noted by One Stockport, the event gives residents an extra place to spend time in the evening while helping local traders increase their business and bringing more visitors into the historic market area.
The event is managed by the Seven Miles Out social enterprise, which is led by John and Rosemary Barratt. This evening market has been recognised for its success multiple times, having won the Best Pop-Up Event award at the Manchester Food and Drink Awards in both 2016 and 2022. The organisers were also given an outstanding achievement award in 2022 for their long-term work in the community.
The return of the market is part of a larger £1 billion transformation project for Stockport. According to Marketing Stockport, the town recently received £56.3 million to speed up building projects and make the area a better place to live and work. This ongoing work aims to build on the success of local events to make the town a destination for culture and leisure.
