Residents in Stockport, Greater Manchester, can enjoy a free large-scale visual display called AMAZE that will transform the town centre on February 21 and February 22, 2026. The event features massive digital projections shown on the Merseyway car park screen between 5:30 PM and 8:30 PM each evening.
The display was created by the artistic duo Illuminos and focuses on the stories of everyday local people. These projections will show life-changing moments from the lives of residents to turn the car park into a giant digital canvas.
According to Stockroom, the town’s new £14.5 million cultural hub, the weekend will also include an indoor session called Amaze After Hours. This part of the festival runs until 8:00 PM and features music from DJ duo Shim Rise and late-night access to the centre’s cafe.
The event is being presented by Stockport Tourism to encourage more families to visit the shops and cafes in the town centre after dark. Refreshments during the evening will be provided by Mercado, the company that runs the cafe within the cultural hub.
Organisers from Stockport Council designed the show to be a highlight of the February half-term holidays. This project follows the opening of the new cultural centre in May 2025 as part of a plan to bring more arts and entertainment to the local community.
