A new planning application was made public on February 21, 2026, to transform the former Tesla showroom in Stockport, Greater Manchester, into 38 new homes. MSA Business Developments is behind the proposal to build a mix of houses and flats on the one-acre site along Wellington Road North.
The project includes 10 four-bedroom townhouses and 28 apartments. These flats will be split into 18 one-bedroom and 10 two-bedroom units to help meet the local demand for housing in the area.
According to the plans designed by CODA Architecture, a three-storey building for the flats will face the A6. The townhouses are set to be built along Howard Street and at the back of the property.
This site has been used for car sales for many years, first as a Guy Salmon dealership and then by Tesla starting in 2015. Tesla recently moved its local operations to other locations as part of a wider plan for the region.
Residents can now share their thoughts on the project with Stockport Council. To see the full details, the application can be found using reference DC/098169 on the council planning website.
