A popular behind-the-scenes tour at the historic Stockport Plaza in Greater Manchester has been moved to Tuesday 26 May 2026. The event, which offers visitors a chance to explore the award-winning 1932 Art Deco theatre, will now start at 11:00am.

The Stockport Plaza first opened its doors to the public on 7 October 1932. The venue originally featured 1,845 seats and has since been recognised as a Grade II* listed building for its historic and architectural significance. Since acquiring the building in March 2000, the Stockport Plaza Trust has worked to restore the site to its original 1932 condition.

Proceeds from the monthly tours are used to support the venue’s ongoing Maintenance and Restoration Appeal. These funds help the registered charity continue its work in preserving the landmark for future generations while keeping the space active as a local centre for films and live performances.
