Creative students in Stockport are being invited to design official posters for the 2027 Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift as part of a national competition. The Stockport Council is calling on local art and design students to showcase their work on a global stage as the borough prepares to host the women’s race on 31 July 2027.

The competition is part of JOY, a wider programme designed to inspire creativity and support local communities. This marks the first time that both the men’s and women’s races have begun in the same country outside of France. Entries opened on 4 May 2026 and students have until 5pm on 26 June 2026 to submit their designs.

A panel led by award-winning artist Lucy Pittaway will judge the submissions. Once the panel reviews the entries, shortlisted designs will be sent to the Amaury Sport Organisation, which manages the race and will make the final selection for the winning posters.

The two winning students will receive a trip to Paris in October 2026 for the official unveiling of their artwork. Additionally, the winners will be given a hospitality experience at one of the British stages of the 2027 event. Stockport will feature prominently during the race, with the route passing through the town centre, by the brick viaduct and Stockport Interchange, and continuing through Offerton and Marple before heading towards Sheffield.
