Sunderland Train Station transforms into a bustling marketplace on Saturday 11 July as the Sunderland BID Art, Craft and Graze Market rolls into the concourse from 9am to 3pm.

Original artwork, handmade crafts, home décor and locally made gifts fill the stalls, while fresh bakes, savoury treats and artisan produce tempt shoppers browsing between them. A Coffee Caribe pod sits on site throughout the event, serving hot drinks to anyone wanting to pause and soak up the relaxed atmosphere. Entry is free and no booking is needed, so visitors can simply walk in and meet the makers face to face.

The market forms part of a wider programme Sunderland BID runs to support Sunderland’s small creative businesses. A similar festive edition brought crowds to the station in December 2025, and the organisation keeps up the tempo with regular events elsewhere in the city, including the monthly Sunniside Food Market and the second‑Sunday Sheepfolds Stables Market, which spotlights artisan food, drink and specialist produce from across the North East.

Holding the July market in a working railway station gives visitors a chance to plan a morning around the stalls and a coffee. With free entry, the event offers a relaxed way to spend a Saturday.
