The The Night Market UK is returning to STACK Seaburn in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, on 26 March 2026. The event will transform the lower plaza of the shipping container village into a space for makers, vintage sellers, and independent traders from 5:30pm to 10:30pm. This is the second time the market has visited the seafront venue following a previous event held in December 2025.
Visitors will be able to browse a variety of local goods while the upper level of the venue remains open for food, drink, and live entertainment. Becc Sanderson, the founder of the market, describes the event as a celebration of the talent found in local small businesses. The touring market has previously held similar evenings in other cities across the country, including Newcastle, Manchester, and Glasgow.
The evening is supported by the Sunderland BID, an organisation that works to improve the local economy and support independent shops. Led by Chief Executive Sharon Appleby, the group recently expanded its operations to cover the Roker and Seaburn coastal areas. The business group reports that it has attracted around 440,000 visitors to the city since it was first established in 2014.
Located on Whitburn Road, STACK Seaburn is a central part of the wider regeneration of the Sunderland seafront. The venue is owned by Danieli Holdings and was developed as part of a long-term plan by the local council to attract more people to the coast. The area has seen significant investment in recent years, including the opening of new restaurants, cafes, and hotels.
