Residents looking for new career opportunities can attend a free jobs fair in Swadlincote on Thursday, 21 May 2026. The event, held in the Main Hall at Green Bank Leisure Centre on Civic Way, will run from 10am to 12:30pm.

Organised by South Derbyshire District Council in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions, the morning event connects local job seekers with a variety of employers. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore full and part-time vacancies in sectors including administration, education, sales, customer service, hospitality, care, catering, cleaning, and warehouse operations. Training opportunities and apprenticeships will also be available.

Confirmed employers attending the fair include Derbyshire Fire & Rescue, Derbyshire Constabulary, Proman (Toyota), Connect Fibre, Right at Home, Bradcare, Prestige Nursing and Care, Derbyshire County Council, South Derbyshire District Council, and 159 Regiment. Additionally, the South Derbyshire Business Advice Service will be on-site to provide free guidance for those interested in self-employment, including assistance with grant and loan applications.

The fair is free for all attendees. Employers who wish to book a stand to recruit staff at no charge should contact the Swadlincote Job Centre.

Last year’s event saw more than 300 job seekers attend, with many securing interviews, job offers, or signing up for further training. This upcoming fair continues the local authority’s focus on supporting employment across the community.
