The Met Office has forecast low air pollution and low sun risk for Swadlincote, Derbyshire, for Wednesday 4 March and Thursday 5 March 2026. This allows residents to plan outdoor activities like school runs or walks with more confidence after a very wet winter season.

Air quality is expected to be at a low level on Wednesday, which is ideal for people with breathing difficulties or those planning to be outside for a long time. On Thursday, levels may rise slightly to moderate according to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, though most people will be able to continue their usual routines as normal.

The risk of sunburn will also remain low on both days, with nearly 11 hours of daylight available before sunset just before 18:00. This provides a good opportunity for locals to visit green spaces such as Swadlincote Woods for exercise or leisure.

These dry conditions follow a mild and wet February 2026 across the country. Swadlincote is a central part of the National Forest, an environmental project supported by South Derbyshire District Council to plant trees in the local area.
