Derbyshire Constabulary has released security camera images of a man they want to identify after at least seven attempted burglaries in Swadlincote, Derbyshire. The incidents happened in the early hours of February 6, 2026, when a suspect was seen trying to open the doors of homes and cars.

Officers believe a lone man or boy was walking through several streets between 1:00 am and 4:00 am. He reportedly tried the handles of house doors, garages, and vehicles to see if they were left unlocked.

The attempted break-ins took place in the areas of Old Railway Mews, Church Street, Hamilton Drive, and Nursery Close. The Swadlincote Police SNT published the appeal and images on February 23, 2026, to help find the person responsible.

Local people are being asked to check their own doorbell cameras or home security systems for any suspicious activity from that night. Police are also reminding residents to double-check that all outbuildings and vehicles are locked every night to stay safe.
