Families in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, can look forward to a free day of entertainment when the third annual Charity Family Fun Day returns to Gresley Old Hall on Saturday, 8 August 2026. The community event is scheduled to run from 11:00am to 4:00pm and offers free entry to all visitors.

The day is being organised by local community partners, spearheaded and promoted by Piggy Pete’s Deli in collaboration with the Gresley Old Hall trustees, and will feature a wide range of activities including craft stalls, a dog show and live performances. Children can enjoy inflatables while local food vendors provide refreshments throughout the afternoon.

Money raised from the event will go towards local causes and the Gresley Old Hall Community Welfare Centre (registered charity no. 520436). The historic 16th‑century building is managed by a team of volunteers (the trustees) and the funds are used to help pay for building repairs and general upkeep.

Organisers are hoping to build on the success of previous years: the 2024 event saw an estimated footfall of around 3,000 people. By moving the date from late July to early August, the team plans to make the event a highlight of the summer holidays for the local community.
