Citizens Advice Mid Mercia is hosting two Neurodiversity Hub drop-in sessions for children and young people (0–25) and their families at its headquarters in Church Gresley, Swadlincote, Derbyshire. The hubs will run on Monday 2 February 2026 and Monday 16 February 2026, 10:00–16:00, offering practical help to anyone navigating conditions such as autism or ADHD without requiring a formal medical diagnosis.

The Citizens Advice Mid Mercia team is running the events in partnership with Derbyshire Autism Services and with support from NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board to help residents with complex paperwork. Families can get guidance on disability benefits (PIP/DLA), social care, and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The hubs provide a ‘soft landing’ for those waiting for clinical assessments.

According to Joined Up Care Derbyshire, the hubs are intended to reduce isolation for families and provide early, practical support. The sessions are held at Citizens Advice Mid Mercia’s office at 114 Church Street, Church Gresley (DE11 9NR), and operate on a drop-in basis—no appointment or formal diagnosis is necessary. The programme received an initial NHS investment of £200,000 in 2023/24 and the Integrated Care Board committed to continue funding through 2024–2026.

Organisers note that some specialists (for example, EHCP advocates) are in high demand and advise residents to arrive early. For those unable to attend in person, Citizens Advice Mid Mercia’s local advice line (0808 278 7972, Mon–Fri 10:00–16:00) offers telephone guidance. These community hubs are intended to be a friendly, practical place for families to get non-clinical support around neurodiversity.
