The first warehouse at the new Panattoni Park in Swindon, Wiltshire, is now finished and ready for businesses to move in as part of a major redevelopment of the former Honda car factory site. According to Swindon Borough Council, the building is 545,000 square feet in size and was completed at the end of February 2026. This move marks the start of a project that aims to bring 7,000 jobs to the town.

The developer has already spent £300 million out of a planned £915 million to transform the 370-acre site into a modern industrial hub. A second, even larger building is expected to be finished by the end of April 2026. This next unit will cover 915,000 square feet, making it the largest speculative warehouse ever built in the UK.

While the council hopes to attract manufacturing firms, the new site will also change how people travel around the area. Residents in South Marston have previously shared concerns about more lorries using the A419 road as the site moves from construction to daily use. The park is expected to support another 11,000 jobs in local businesses that supply the site once it is fully running.

Over the next two to three years, the developer plans to build another 3.5 million square feet of space at the location. Council Leader Jim Robbins said the goal is to keep the town’s history of high-skilled work alive following the closure of the car plant in 2021. No specific businesses have been named yet, but the first tenant is expected to be announced before the middle of 2026.
