A free family festival featuring robot shows and interactive science activities is coming to Swindon, Wiltshire, on Friday 6 March and Saturday 7 March 2026. This community event marks the official opening weekend of British Science Week and offers local families a chance to see live demonstrations and take part in hands-on challenges at no cost.
The weekend is part of the Festival of Tomorrow and follows this year’s theme, Curiosity: what’s your question? Families can watch large-scale shows from the group Wonderstruck or try out engineering tasks and robot challenges provided by the James Dyson Foundation at venues including the STEAM Museum and The Deanery CE Academy.
The festival is supported by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and the British Science Association. Organisers want to make complex technology fun for all ages and help inspire children in the local community to explore future careers in engineering and research.
