Swindon Town Football Club has confirmed a change to its ownership structure, with the club now officially under the sole ownership of Axis Football Investments. The update was announced by the club on 31 March 2026, following an internal move to simplify how the club is governed.

As part of the process completed on 27 March 2026, club owner Clem Morfuni has returned to full control of the shares. This involved buying back shares that had been previously held by Holly Kiely and Bethany Parladorio. Those shares were originally transferred in August 2022 to help the club cover a 2.9 million pound debt payment. Following the buyout, other entities that were part of the ownership chain, Swinton Reds 20 and Seebeck 87, have been removed from the structure.

According to Swindon Town Football Club, Mr. Morfuni continues to personally hold the club’s total debt, which stands at 10.6 million pounds. The club stated that this ongoing financial responsibility is evidence of the owner’s commitment to the future of the team.

The announcement takes place during a period of tension regarding the club’s leadership. The Swindon Town Supporters Trust has previously expressed a loss of confidence in the current ownership, publicly calling for a change in leadership. The fan-run organisation, which holds a 50 per cent stake in the County Ground stadium through a joint venture, has been vocal about its concerns regarding the club’s direction in recent years.

Mr. Morfuni, an Australian businessman, became the owner of the club in July 2021 following a legal dispute with the former owner. Since that time, the club has faced various challenges, including a 10,000 pound fine issued by an independent disciplinary commission in March 2024 for failing to report share transfers as required by football regulations.
