Two local businesses are helping to fund the Wellington Midsummer Fayre, the town’s largest free community event, which will take place on Saturday 13 June 2026. The celebration, run by the volunteer organisation Wellington H2A, will bring music, dancing, and stalls to the area around Market Square, All Saints Church, and the Market Hall from 10am to 3pm.

The main sponsor for this year’s event is FRO Blinds, an independent window-dressing shop located on Market Street. Owned by Andy Simpson, the business received early support from the Telford and Wrekin Council Pride in Your High Street Fund and is currently preparing to move into larger premises within the town. By sponsoring the fayre, the company aims to give back to the community that supported its growth.

The event is also supported by Rowton Brewery, a family-run business established in 2008 by Jim Preston. Now managed as a father-and-son team with head brewer Steve Preston, the brewery is based at The Pheasant Inn in Wellington. The team is well-acquainted with town events, as Jim Preston regularly participates in costume at community festivities and the pub hosts an annual baking contest.

This year’s Wellington Midsummer Fayre is part of the Flora 250 programme, which celebrates the 250th anniversary of Dr William Withering’s 1776 botanical book. The day will also feature an anniversary celebration for The Ironmen and Severn Gilders Morris Dancers, following a 2025 event that attracted record crowds and over 250 performers.
