Police have seized approximately 260 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of £220,000 following a raid on a property in Telford. Officers from the West Mercia Police Telford Central and Donnington Safer Neighbourhood Teams executed the warrant on the morning of Thursday, 23 April 2026, at a house on Alma Avenue in Malinslee.

No one was inside the property when officers arrived to carry out the search. Investigations into the illegal grow are ongoing, and residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as enquiries continue.

Sergeant Matt Corfield stated that cannabis farms of this scale are often linked to organised criminal groups. He noted that shutting these operations down is a priority to protect the community from the wider harm caused by such criminal activity.

This action is part of a broader push by local authorities to disrupt illegal drug supply chains. Between April 2025 and March 2026, West Mercia Police reported seizing more than £2.3 million worth of drugs and closing down 38 organised distribution operations across the region.

Anyone with information regarding suspicious activity in their neighbourhood can contact the police or report it anonymously to Crimestoppers.
