Residents in Telford can look forward to a significant improvement in the weather as the week progresses, following a period of damp and unsettled conditions. According to the Met Office, the wet weather that persisted through Tuesday and into Wednesday morning is set to give way to warmer, brighter conditions just in time for the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend.

Recent observations in the area recorded light rain and drizzle that lasted from Tuesday, 19 May, through Wednesday morning, 20 May. During this period, local humidity levels reached a peak of 95 percent, and wind gusts hit 32mph from the south-southwest on Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures throughout this unsettled time ranged from a low of 9.9°C to a high of 17.6°C.

The outlook for the remainder of the week shows a notable change. Forecasts from the Met Office indicate that Thursday will see conditions begin to dry out, with temperatures climbing to 21°C. The trend is expected to continue as the region moves into the weekend.

The Met Office has confirmed that warm and settled weather is expected to remain throughout the Bank Holiday weekend, from Saturday, 23 May, through Monday, 25 May. Temperatures in Telford are forecast to reach between 24°C and 25°C with sunny conditions. According to Deputy Chief Forecaster Tony Wisson, the incoming weather will provide a marked contrast to the conditions seen earlier in the week, with warm and fine weather likely to persist into the following week.
