Horsford F.C. is creating two new teams for young girls to play football in the Thorpe St Andrew area of Norfolk, starting in the 2026–27 season. The club is opening spots for an Under-9 team (school years 3 and 4) and an Under-15 team (school years 9 and 10).

Players will train during the week on 3G floodlit pitches in the Thorpe St Andrew area and play competitive matches on Saturdays. These games will be part of the Norfolk Women and Girls Football League (NWGFL), giving local players the chance to compete across the county.

The expansion into the Thorpe St Andrew area is designed to meet strong local demand from families and to help bridge the gap between introductory ‘Wildcats’ sessions and regular league football. The club is scheduling midweek training on all-weather 3G pitches so sessions can continue through the winter regardless of weather.

Horsford F.C., founded in 1975, is an England Football 3 Star Accredited club and has previously been named Norfolk FA Charter Standard Club of the Year (2014, 2018). Parents can register their children for the new season via the club’s website; registrations opened on 28 January 2026.

The club says the new teams are about more than just winning, with a focus on building friendships and a passion for the game. The initiative is intended to move players from introductory sessions into regular league matches in a supportive development pathway.
