Torquay, Devon, will see unusually mild weather this week from February 23 to February 27, 2026, with temperatures climbing as high as 15°C. According to the Met Office, the town will experience a mix of sunny intervals and breezy periods throughout the next few days.
The warm spell arrives just as local students return to their classrooms after the half-term break. Data from Weather Atlas shows that the average high temperature for February in the area is usually around 8.5°C, making this week’s forecast significantly warmer than normal.
Residents may find they need less heating at home during the day as a result of the mild conditions. While the start of the week offers good opportunities for outdoor activities, the weather is expected to become more unsettled by Thursday and Friday.
Wind gusts are predicted to increase toward the end of the week, reaching speeds of 41mph by February 27, 2026. This increase in wind could bring patchy rain and heavy spray to exposed parts of the seafront, potentially affecting those planning coastal walks or using small boats.
The Environment Agency monitors the risk of waves crashing over sea walls in the region. Areas such as Meadfoot, Livermead, and the Torquay Harbour are most likely to see sea water reaching coastal roads during these breezy periods.
