Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is upgrading the Wi-Fi services across its sites this March 2026 to make it easier for patients and staff in Surrey to stay connected. The improvement project affects several locations including St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey and Ashford Hospital, which serve many residents from nearby Walton-on-Thames.

As part of the update, the Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will remove the old network known as TempPublicInternet. It will be replaced by a single service called NHS Wi-Fi that will be available for everyone to use without needing to go through a login portal.

The new system is designed to provide faster and more reliable internet access for the approximately 4,800 people who work for the organisation. According to the Trust, which is the largest provider of acute hospital services to Surrey residents, the upgrade will help both administrative and clinical teams do their jobs more effectively.

This digital project is being rolled out throughout the month and includes parts of Woking Community Hospitals as well as the main hospital buildings. Hospital bosses say the goal is to create a simpler way for patients and visitors to access the web while they are on site for appointments or treatment.
