Local artists in Elmbridge have until 17 May 2026 to submit their work for a new community exhibition at the Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre in Walton-on-Thames. The showcase, titled Making Space 2026, will run from 29 July to 23 August 2026 and is being supported by Elmbridge Borough Council.
The exhibition is being curated by DAiSY (Disability Arts in Surrey), an organisation that champions the work of d/Deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent artists. The event is co-presented by the Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre and has received funding from the R C Sherriff Trust.
Organisers are encouraging residents aged 15 and older to take part if they live in the borough or attend local art or disability groups. There is a specific focus on celebrating creativity from underrepresented communities, and priority will be given to d/Deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent artists.
Making Space 2026 continues the legacy of previous community art projects, such as the Moving Art exhibition series which began in 2017. Selected artwork must be ready to hang and delivered to the gallery on 27 July 2026.
The exhibition will be free for the public to visit. Further information regarding the application process is available through the local council’s official website.
