Walton & Hersham FC launched its 11-point community programme, SWANS 11, on 6 February 2026 to expand sports and educational opportunities for residents in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey. The initiative is designed to strengthen ties between the club and local families by expanding grassroots coaching, formalising school partnerships and growing the club’s charitable outreach.
The plan emphasises more football training and clearer links with local schools. It also includes a dedicated “Pathway to Semi-Pro” intended to help local teenagers progress into semi‑professional football through the club’s youth affiliate, Walton & Hersham United FC — which the youth club says has well over 1,000 playing members in the community.
Activities will be based at the Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub in Walton-on-Thames. The programme’s outline includes proposals to develop the Hub as a community asset — including plans to explore matchday community hubs and other local-facing spaces tied to the club’s fixtures.
The club says SWANS 11 will be funded in part through commercial partnerships and its supporter membership platform. Walton & Hersham has already announced Slice Mobile as a front-of-shirt sponsor and launched the CLUB:SWANS digital membership platform, both of which are cited as revenue and engagement streams supporting the club’s wider community work.
Community Outreach Officer James Kemp, quoted in the SWANS 11 announcement, said: “We have already built great relationships with local charities, and I’m excited to build on this work as we continue to grow our community impact.” The club’s ownership has been consolidated under majority shareholders Calogero Scannella and Christopher Corey, who are steering this longer-term, community-focused phase of development.
