The Walton & Hersham FC first team defeated Yate Town 3-1 at the Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub on Saturday, 28 February 2026. This win in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, keeps the local team at the top of the league table as they look to move into a higher division.
The team currently has 70 points from 30 games and holds a nine-point lead over second-place Gloucester City. This victory is part of a high-scoring run for the side, which has seen them score 13 goals in their last three matches against Plymouth Parkway, Basingstoke Town, and Yate Town.
With more fans attending matches at the sports hub, the club has issued advice to help manage local traffic. Supporters are asked to use the specific access road for the hub rather than the leisure centre car park to avoid congestion for other residents. This increase in visitors has also brought extra trade to local businesses and cafes nearby.
The club has also increased its local work by launching the SWANS 11 community trust. This project is designed to improve local engagement and social impact across the Elmbridge area. The initiative is led by owners Calogero Scannella and Christopher Corey, who have managed the club since October 2024.
