Warrington Town Football Club has completed the installation of new seating at the Cantilever bridge end of Cantilever Park, increasing the stadium’s total seating capacity to 612 and bringing the overall capacity to just above 3,100. The expansion project was supported by funding from the Premier League Stadium Fund and received approval from the Warrington Borough Council planning committee in January 2026.
The installation involved clearing land and levelling the ground on either side of the existing stand. After pouring concrete footings, 176 new seats were installed, including four dedicated disability viewing spaces. The club also completed additional groundwork to accommodate the Bellefields Brew refreshment truck and a new mini-fanzone with seating. Further improvements included increasing access points at that end of the ground, which may allow for an additional exit point for supporters in the future.
The project was led by club chairman Toby Macormac with assistance from local contractors Scott Taylor of Taylor Made Garden Maintenance, Andrew Rowlinson of AC Joinery, and Warren Slease-Lloyd of Birchfield Services. According to Warrington Town Football Club, “The hard work of chairman Toby Macormac, Scott Taylor of Taylor Made Garden Maintenance, Andrew Rowlinson of AC Joinery and Warren Slease-Lloyd of Birchfield Services has made the project possible.”
The new stands will be operational in time for the club’s first home pre-season friendly against Chester on Saturday 18 July 2026, which is scheduled for a 3pm kick-off. A new title sponsor for the Cantilever bridge end is expected to be announced at an event later this summer.
