A 49-year-old man from Hemel Hempstead has been charged with eight offences following a series of break-ins at homes across Watford and the surrounding Three Rivers area in Hertfordshire. Danny Grealey, of Ebberns Road, was charged by the Hertfordshire Constabulary on February 13, 2026, after an investigation into crimes committed over several months.
The charges involve four separate burglaries that took place between November 25, 2025, and January 17, 2026. These incidents occurred at properties on Fairview Drive in Watford, as well as Gallows Hill Lane and Ash Close in Abbots Langley.
Items reported stolen from the homes include jewellery, sunglasses, and cash. The suspect is also accused of taking common household appliances including a kettle and a microwave.
In addition to the burglary charges, Mr Grealey faces charges for possession of heroin and cocaine. He was also allegedly found in possession of illegal weapons including a zombie knife and an extendable baton.
Detective Sergeant Darren Machin of the Three Rivers investigation team said that burglary causes real harm to the community and is treated with the utmost seriousness. The Watford Neighbourhood Policing Team is expected to increase patrols and provide security advice to residents in the affected areas.
