Families in Watford can enjoy a free meet and greet with Sonic the Hedgehog at the Harlequin Watford shopping centre on Saturday 4 April 2026. The popular video game character will be appearing at the Character.com store in the Lower Mall from 11am to 3:30pm.

The event is part of a broader Easter programme held at the centre during the school holidays. Alongside the meet and greet, the store is hosting Dr. Eggman’s Easter Egg Hunt, which runs from Friday 3 April through to Monday 6 April. During this activity, guests are tasked with helping Sonic retrieve Easter eggs that have been taken by the character Dr. Eggman.

Visitors who successfully track down all the hidden eggs will be entered into a raffle. The prize on offer is an ultimate Sonic prize bundle, which includes an Easter egg, clothing, and various magazines.

Character.com, which is headquartered in Swansea, opened its first location at the centre in July 2025. The retailer, known for stocking clothing and accessories featuring over 200 different characters, provides interactive elements for children at the Watford site, including a themed soft toy chair for family photographs.
