Watford Borough Council has confirmed that bin and recycling collection dates will change for residents in Watford, Hertfordshire, during the Easter 2026 holiday. The local authority is moving collection days to account for the bank holidays in April.
Under the waste collection changes this Easter, all services will run one day later than usual starting from Good Friday, 3 April 2026. This adjustment means that bins normally collected on the Friday will be picked up on Saturday, 4 April 2026 instead.
The one-day delay will also apply to the entire following week, from Monday 6 April to Friday 10 April. For example, households that usually have their bins emptied on a Monday will see the service moved to Tuesday, and this pattern will continue throughout the week.
Normal collection routines are set to resume on Monday, 13 April 2026. Residents are encouraged to check their revised dates and place their bins out for collection as usual on their new temporary day to ensure they are emptied.
