Businesses in Watford, Hertfordshire, will soon decide on a new plan to invest more than £1.8 million into the local area over the next five years. The ballot for the Watford Clarendon BID, a business-led group, is set to run from February 20, 2026, to March 19, 2026, and covers the commercial district around Clarendon Road and Station Road.

The proposed project looks to turn the area into a top-tier destination for both employees and visitors. According to the five core commitments of the plan, the money will be used to improve street cleanliness, boost safety through new partnerships, and run marketing campaigns to attract more talent and investments. The initiative also focuses on supporting business growth through training and embracing more sustainable ways of working.

This vote comes after the main Watford Town Centre BID group successfully secured its third term in October 2025. The new proposal for Clarendon Road aims to provide a similar level of dedicated support for the town’s growing office and professional sector, including the creation of a new forum where local professionals can share ideas and solve problems together.

The district has already benefited from a £9.8 million regeneration project led by Watford Borough Council, which saw pavements widened and lighting improved. If local businesses vote in favour of the new 2026-2031 plan, the additional funding will provide a long-term commitment to maintaining and promoting the area as a key part of the town.
