Watford, Hertfordshire, has been named as the next location to receive its own official Monopoly board game. The announcement was made on February 3, 2026, at the Watford Palace Theatre by representatives from Watford Borough Council and the game’s developer, Winning Moves UK.

The town secured its spot on the board after winning a competition against 19 other locations across the UK. Judges chose the town based on several factors, including its sense of family values, civic pride, and local beauty.

Local residents have until February 28, 2026, to suggest which landmarks should be featured on the board instead of the traditional London locations. According to the Watford Town Centre BID, the game is expected to include well-known sites such as Cassiobury Park, Vicarage Road Stadium, and the Warner Bros. Studios.

The new Monopoly: Watford Edition is expected to be available for purchase in time for the 2026 Christmas shopping season. Local leaders believe the game will help highlight the town’s culture and provide a short-term boost to local shops and attractions.
