Local volunteers from the Wellingborough Eco Group are hosting a free repair event this Saturday, 14 March 2026, at the Victoria Centre in Northamptonshire to help residents fix broken items and reduce local waste.

Residents can bring in various damaged items, such as electronics, clothing, and small furniture, for a repair attempt between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. While the skilled volunteers will try their best to fix what is brought to them, the group says there are no promises or guarantees that every item can be successfully repaired.

The event is held on the second Saturday of every month, except for August, at the centre located at 46-50 Palk Road. Under the leadership of project leader Judy Sumner, the Repair Café moved to the venue in September 2025 to better serve the local community.

By providing these free repairs, the project aims to keep household goods in use for longer and promote reuse across the town. It is part of a wider community effort to encourage more sustainable habits and prevent usable items from ending up in landfill sites.
